This concept of "enough"

Two of my students graduated last week from high school. I was able to attend their graduation and it was an honor to be there for those two gentlemen and their families. Both the valedictorian and soluditorian talked about their fears of not being "enough." They wondered if they were smart enough, talented enough, dedicated enough, deserving enough to actually receive the honors for which they had accomplished.

Enough is actually my greatest fear as well.

Am I enough of a(n)

1). Daughter

2). Friend

3). Best Friend

4). Sister

5). Teacher

6). Listener

7). Helper

8). Cheerleader

9). Intellectual

10). Girlfriend

11). Confidant

12). Cousin

13). Support System

The list goes on and on...

But I think this concept of "enough" is actually a lie. You, who you are, right now is enough. Giving the best you have to offer is all that anyone can ask for. Why beat yourself up over more, when there is no more to offer. That just leads to feelings of guilt and insecurity.

Be You.... That's enough.
