Make America Great (Again)?

Oh nostalgia... How I love to look at the past through rose colored glasses that seem so effortlessly hides all the crap that actually happened in the past.

Recently I had a coworker communicate with me how he loves the concept of MAGA and things this administration is actually going to get us there. And for one brief moment I believed them. Then I started thinking about it more deeply and I agreed 100%. Lets look at this great past America is going back to based on your ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.

Native Americans:

1). Stole and continue to steal their land

2). Gave them blankets with Tuberculosis so it would kill them off (mass genocide)

3). Removed children from their families

4). Took away their names and replaced them with "Christian" names

5). Trail of Tears

6). Chronic unemployement

7). Zero healthcare

8). Took away culture and sacred knowleges

9). Took away language

Asian Americans:

1). Slave labor in Rail road system across America

2). Internment Camps

3). Confiscated all money, land and business so the people went into said internment camps

4). Not allowed to receive a public education until 1950s

5). Are given minimal if any credit for making this country what it is

6). Took away traditional names for: Grace or Jennifer because Americans couldn't be bothered to learn names

African Americans:

1). Slavery

2). No right to vote

3). Jim Crow

4). Redlining

5). Biased sentencing laws

6). Ease of police killings with zero consequence

7). Open lynchings

8). Took away culture

9). Took away language

10). Took away natural families

11). Took away traditional stories

11). Took away your name

Latinx Persons:

1). Language

2). Culture

3). Land... The Texas-Mexico boarder shouldn't be that low...

4). and others I can't think of...

Women:

1). No right to vote

2). Property of husbands

3). Unequal pay for same work

4). Getting fired for being pregnant

5). Cannot work outside the home

6). Unable to buy property without husbands approval/concent

7). Unable to buy property in her own name

8). Zero reproductive rights

9). The Pink Tax

Gender Queer:

1). To survive you had to stay hidden

2). Thought to have demons living inside of you

3). Cannot marry

4). Cannot adopt children

5). Cannot be on partners insurance policies

6). Murdered for being

7). Can be fired at will because of gender identity or expression
