The Distraction of Work
Most times people hate to work... There are other things you would like to be doing. Other places you'd like to visit instead of the office. While some people get to travel for work (and then long for the comforts of home), most people really just would rather be anywhere except the workplace...until something bad happens.
When something bad happens in our personal lives, we become the most productive people on the face of the planet. Like someone has given us Aderall to help us focus and concentrate and work longer and better than we ever have in life. Work becomes our savior to distract us from the problems of our present circumstance.
I was talking to my little brother (LB), the other day, about the scam artist and how even though he was a complete lie, I still missed someone caring about me. LB understood and then offered to kill him for me. hahahaha. Obviously, I would not condone that (at least while writing on the internet). But that next Monday morning, at work, it was a whole new day. Work became a refuge and a place where I could throw myself into and see results of my labor. But more than that, I have family at work too. My office mates help to also keep me distracted from myself. Oddly enough, they also remind me of myself and I can get back to being myself too.
So, on this Monday morning, I am happy to be at work. Happy I get to meet with a friend later today at dinner. Happy for my work family.
