I'm going to be a Godmother!!!!

I have been REALLY lucky growing up. I had the most amazing Godmother this side of heaven! My earliest memory is that of my Godmother. I was sitting in an oxygen tent as a kid in the hospital. My Godmother was the only person who would sit in my tent with me and play Barbies while I munched on McDonald's French Fries and slurped down Mott's Apple Juice. I was probably four or five years old.

It didn't matter how sick I was, or what hospital I was at or what was going on in her life, I was a priority. When my parents accidentally left me at church, it was my Godmother who took me home. It was my Godmother who came to my house and picked me up and took me out to eat or shopping or to a movie or just let me hang out at her house while my parents were working. She was my second mom and my one true friend. When she had kids of her own, she simply referred to me as her oldest child. Her daughter, when I graduated from high school, was upset I was born first and was finished with school. She didn't remember that we were only God-sisters and that she still had another 5 years of school left to complete. When I got my first apartment, my Godmother bought me my dinning room table and chairs. She has always been there for me.

So now, I get to be that for some other little kid. I get to have my own bonus baby to love on and claim as mine. I am so excited and so humbled that someone would chose me to be their child's godparent. I know it is a huge responsibility and I've NOT been chosen in the past because I wasn't married. I cannot wait for this little person to get here and show their face. I cannot wait to know if I'm having a boy or a girl! I cannot wait to pick out the name (well.... I'll see what I can do....hahaha). Having a Godchild is not something I take lightly. It is an awesome responsibility. I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT!!!!!

BRING ME (MY) THE BABY!!!!!
