UGH...


So for the past two days, I've taken sick days. I've been working non-stop for the past three weeks and for at least the next two weeks I should be working non-stop again.

Everyone in my office is working that hard and it is starting to show. People are angry at each other, short with each other, complaining about each other... The work is still getting done, but it's getting done with so much stress that we have a toxic environment. It wasn't until I took those two days off and I could actually focus on myself and things I need to do that the revelation of an overworked and under appreciated staff was so clearly visible.

My admin called out sick today. I told her to take the rest of the week. We all need a break. And we cannot function to our highest level if we do not have some time to ourselves; some time to recharge our own batteries.

So, take some time off, smell the flowers, get out of the routine. FOCUS ON YOU.
