Thoughts & Prayers

250 mass shootings this year. The first thing we say is that "our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families."

Such an empty line at this point in time. What are we supposed to be thinking now? What are our prayers supposed to do for the dead?

If we were really thinking about the people who died and the families left to mourn, we would, as a collective society, fight to end the circumstances that have caused (yet another) tragedy. Save your thoughts and prayers. Neither of them are working.
