Saying Goodbye
Before I started working at UTA, I was a 7th-grade
history teacher. I still keep in contact with quite a few of my kiddos now. They're in their 30s now and it's great to see them do so many wonderful things. One of my favorite students, Teegan, knew she wanted to be a lawyer and she got accepted to Vanderbilt University on an academic and track scholarship. After she graduated, she went to law school and became a full-fledged lawyer practicing in Dallas. This weekend she was celebrating her 31st birthday on the water with her sister and some friends. She and her sister died. I am heartbroken. I've never liked the 4th. 20 years ago my granddad died of congestive heart failure. This has been a rough weekend.
